Loved the Maricopa!

April 4, 2012
This lodge was the ideal place for a relaxing weekend!! My girlfriends and I stayed because we wanted to get away outside of the city and enjoy nature at its best. The location is perfect because there is food and shopping that is just a short drive. The landscaping at the Maricopa is beautiful and not to mention the river is right out the back door of your room. I loved the fact that there are 2 doors in the room, 1 that allows easy access to your vehicle and the back door that leads right to the river. The rooms seemed to be newly remodeled and very clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating beyond my expectations which is always a plus. I'm going to come back with my family this summer!!

The location on the river is wonderful. The staff was helpful and able to answer any questions we had. The room was clean with easy front door/back door access to landscaped area. We will be back! We recommend this spot to those who will be in the area.

Loved our stay at Maricopa Lodge

Our family stayed over memorial day weekend. Rooms were newly remodeled, great location, service and grounds. There was something nearby for everyone to do. We floated the river one day and enjoyed boating on Canyon Lake the next. We will be back next year!

Went for a concert, can't wait to get back there and relax.

I was trying to find a place close to the amphitheater and this was in walking distance. I couldn't believe they still had rooms considering the concert was 3 weeks away. We got a room with 2 double beds, small fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable enough for me and I'm pretty picky. The room was small but if you saw the outside you wouldn't mind. We spent almost all day and night outside anyway. The grounds were sooo relaxing and beautiful with a little for everyone. Had horseshoes, a small playground and plenty of bbq pits each with it's own table and chairs. Like being at home but more serene. Got there on Friday night and bbq'd at like midnight and and drank a few beers and just relaxed. Met a bunch of people all headed to the concert the next day and we all partied outside till like 4 in the morning. One guy broke out his guitar and started playing all the songs from the band we were to see the next day and it was awesome. I guess if you aren't into partying it would have been quite annoying to you but if you are this place rocked. The river was right there just jump in and tube down the horseshoe and either walk back(1/4 mile) then cross the road back and be done. Of course if you plan on drinking on the river walking back the 2nd time was pretty rough. Overall our experience was great and we didn't want to leave. We packed up on sunday and checked out and still hung around outside for another hour or so. We are already making plans to go back next summer and I can't wait.

Wonderful place to stay - can't wait to go back!!!!!

Four girlfriends and I (all in our 50's) stayed at the Maricopa Riverside Lodge for 5 days, 4 nights. Our room (Family Unit 2) was spacious, clean, nicely appointed and the beds were fantastic (had to have been new mattresses & 400 + thread count sheets). The management was so very accommodating and the maid service exceptional. The grounds are inviting and the pool was a nice change in the evenings from the cold river water. The outdoor grills and picnic tables were plentiful. Canyon Lake, New Braunfels, Gruene, & Schlitterbahn are all closeby. We can't wait to go back!!!!!!

Super location for lots of fun with the family!

I took my girlfriend, her sister, and their 3 daughters (7-14 years) for a long 4th of July weekend. We had 2 rooms upstairs. The place was clean and quiet and just right for the family on such a busy holiday weekend. We used the pool, went to Schlitterbahn for a day, went tubing twice from the lodge, went boating on Canyon Lake and to the outlet mall and a friend's BBQ in San Marcus. The weather was great and the people friendly. Every evening and night we relaxed on the upstairs patio and there weren't any bugs around. The 2nd best part was tubing on the upper river. With so many wild young kids tubing the river from the lodge down we started at the base of the dam and floated to the lodge. Few people and a very peaceful float through scenic areas (3 hr float). Then I rode my bike back to to get my car at the dam in less than 20 minutes. But the best was when I waded just upstream of the lodge and went fishing for smallmouth bass. I only got to spend 20 minutes fishing and I had 3 nice smallmouths and missed 2 more. The biggest was almost 3 lbs. Guess it doesn't get much pressure. It's amazing what a plastic worm can do. We all had a wonderful vacation. I'll go again.
